About The Circle of Learning
Learning Through Story. Growing Through Understanding.
The Circle of Learning is an Indigenous-owned digital learning platform created to bring authentic Indigenous voices, stories, and teachings directly to schools, libraries, workplaces, and communities.
For thousands of years, Indigenous knowledge has been shared through story. Stories carry history, culture, values, and lived experience in ways that inspire understanding and create lasting connections. The Circle of Learning continues this tradition by making these teachings accessible through engaging online courses led by respected Indigenous Knowledge Sharers, authors, educators, and community leaders.
Our purpose is simple: to make Indigenous learning meaningful, accessible, and impactful to inch our way to Truth and Reconciliation while deburdening the storyteller.
Whether you are a teacher introducing Truth and Reconciliation in the classroom, a librarian expanding educational resources for your patrons, an employer strengthening cultural understanding within your organisation, or an individual seeking to learn, The Circle of Learning provides flexible learning experiences that meet people where they are.
Authentic Voices. Real Stories.
Every course is built around the sharing of authentic Indigenous voices—not interpretations of Indigenous experiences.
Participants learn directly from Indigenous storytellers who generously share their histories, teachings, and perspectives with honesty, compassion, and hope. These are not scripted performances or textbook summaries. They are real stories that invite reflection, conversation, and deeper understanding.
The Ownership of Enter the Circle of Learning

As the majority owner of The Circle of Learning in the partnership with Indigenous creators, Medicine Wheel Publishing, and PathWise Solutions, Kristy McLeod brings together Indigenous identity, educational leadership, and digital innovation to help make Indigenous learning accessible to communities across Canada and beyond.
Kristy is a registered Métis with family roots in the Lac Ste. Anne and Red River Settlements. Her Métis family names—L’Hirondelle, Nipissing, Pilon, and Courteorielle—reflect generations of connection to Métis history, culture, and community. This personal connection informs her commitment to creating educational experiences that honour Indigenous voices with authenticity and respect.
For more than 25 years, Kristy has worked as an educator, helping learners of all ages engage with meaningful, inclusive education. She has a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Indigenous Education, where her research explored urban Métis identity, deepening her understanding of Indigenous education and culturally responsive learning.
Kristy is also the co-owner of PathWise Solutions. Through this work, she has helped organisations transform complex educational content into engaging, accessible digital learning experiences.
The Circle of Learning brings together these three areas of expertise—Indigenous knowledge, educational practice, and digital learning design. Under Kristy’s leadership, the platform was built not simply as a collection of online courses but as a place where Indigenous Knowledge Sharers can speak directly to learners through authentic storytelling, reflection, and meaningful educational experiences.
Her vision is to ensure that schools, libraries, workplaces, and individuals have access to trusted Indigenous-led learning that is engaging, accessible, and grounded in relationship. By combining cultural authenticity with thoughtful instructional design and innovative technology, Kristy is helping build a platform that supports lifelong learning and contributes to the ongoing journey of Truth and Reconciliation.
